Congressional Races Closely Watched in Northern Wisconsin Submitted: 11/06/2012
Milwaukee - Wisconsin's most closely watched congressional races are in the northern half of the state.

Voters are deciding whether to re-elect two freshmen Republicans or hand the seats back to Democrats.

Republicans hold five of Wisconsin's eight U.S. House seats.

Democrats think two will be vulnerable Tuesday. The first is northwestern Wisconsin's 7th District, where Representative Sean Duffy holds a seat previously held for four decades by a Democrat.

He's facing Democrat Patrick Kreitlow.

In northeast Wisconsin's 8th District, Representative Reid Ribble is being challenged by Democrat Jamie Wall for a seat Ribble won from a Democrat.

Also getting attention is Republican congressman Paul Ryan's 1st District.

He's seeking his eighth term while also running for vice president.

If he wins both, a special election would fill the congressional seat.
