MERRILL, ANTIGO, PHILLIPS, MEDFORD - Here are this week's four nominees for the "Newswatch 12 Player of the Week."

In volleyball on Saturday, Merrill's Renee Sladek had 10 kills against Wausau East. The Bluejays captured the regional final.

In football, Medford advanced to level 2 of the playoffs iwth an impressive victory over Onalaska. Running back Cole Loertscher ran for 118 yards and 3 TDs for the Raiders.
In boys corss country, Kyle Lochner of Phillips was the D-3 sectional runner-up in Bruce. Lochner finished in 17 minutes, 10.9 seconds as he's headed to this weekend's state meet. It's his second straight year competing at the event in Wisconsin Rapids.

Also in volleyball, Antigo knoecked off Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Brenna Nedden had 24 kills and 14 digs in the victory. She is a cousin of fellow nominee Renee Sladek.
