Laona/Wabeno cross country sweeps NLC championships Submitted: 10/08/2012
SUGAR CAMP - In high school cross country the Northern Lakes Conference Championships were held in Sugar Camp.

Monday's race was a good tuneup. Sectionals are less than two weeks away.

The conditions were cool and windy. That didn't stop the athletes from putting in solid performances.

On the boys side, John Mangold from Laona-Wabeno got out to a huge lead and took the top spot finishing over a minute ahead of the rest of the field. Adam Flannery of Crandon came in second.
In boys team scores, Laona-Wabeno took first followed by Florence, Crandon then Goodman.

For the ladies, Natalie Miller of Three Lakes continued her hot streak. She came in first with a time of 15 minutes 14 seconds...She has taken the top spot in 7 of 8 races. Laona-Wabeno's Megan Tarlton was second.

And in girls team scores, Laona-Wabeno finished first followed by Three Lakes and Crandon.
