Home Sales Show Increase in Wisconsin Submitted: 05/22/2012
Madison - New numbers indicate the real estate market in Wisconsin continues to rebound.

Figures from the Wisconsin Realtors Association show sales of existing homes rose 19 percent in April compared to the same month a year ago.

That's the 10th consecutive month of double-digit sales growth in the state.

The median sales prices rose slightly, up 2.4 percent.

Association president Michael Theo says the state may have finally ``turned the corner on sales.'' Prices are another thing.

Plenty of homes are still on the market in Wisconsin, including foreclosure properties.

For the first four months of the year, prices are down about 1 percent.

For the northern region of the state, home sales in April were up almost 17 percent compared to April of last year.

Median home prices in the north were up 5.3 percent compared to a year ago.
