Milwaukee bars close early on St. Patrick's Day Submitted: 03/18/2012
Milwaukee - St. Patrick's Day celebrations ended prematurely in Milwaukee as bars on Water Street closed early due to fights between people who were punching and kicking each other and throwing bottles at police.

Bars on Water Street shut their doors early when people outside
started punching and kicking each other and then throwing bottles at police.

Someone at the brawl took this video and uploaded it on You Tube.

Here is a link to the video: Watching the video you can see police on foot and horseback break up one fight near Bar Louie and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Police said they asked the taverns to close after bottles were thrown and the crowds became so large that people were gathering outside instead of going into bars.

All the establishments were closed 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The general manager at Bar Louie, estimates the bar lost about $5,000 in revenue by closing early.
