Shawano County - A hunter in Shawano County is injured after being shot by another hunter this weekend.

The Shawano County Sheriff's Department received a call of a hunting accident in (bartle-me) Bartleme around two pm Saturday.

The accident happened on the North side of River Road on Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal property.

According to the sheriff's department one hunter mistook another member of the hunting party for a deer. The hunter was hit in the upper right arm.

The injured hunter was then taken to Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

The incident is under investigation, but officials believe it's an accident.
