Madison - A radical environmentalist sent to prison for vandalizing a forestry research station in Rhinelander is asking for more time to pay restitution.
Katherine Christianson has asked a judge to delay restitution payments until she is released from prison in 2011.
She says she cannot afford to make the $70 quarterly payments ordered earlier.
Christianson, who is from Santa Fe, New Mexico has been ordered to pay more than $424,000 in restitution along with co-defendant Bryan Lefay, formerly Bryan Rivera.
The two were convicted of damaging property at the U.S. Forest Service facility in Rhinelander.
Prosecutors say the two and others used saws to cut down trees and vandalize government vehicles with references to the Earth Liberation Front.
