Meatless Baked Beans

Great Northern beans; dried.
Soak in large kettle of room temperature water overnight. Drain in the morning and leave in the large, oven proof kettle.
In separate sauce pan add the following and simmer until brown sugar is melted and onion flakes are re-hydrated. Stir constantly.


2 T Salt
4 Cups V-8 Juice
2 cups white vinegar
1 cups brown sugar
cup molasses
cup Franks Red Hot Sauce
cup dehydrated onion flakes
2 T Steak seasoning; dry
cup Worcestershire sauce
1 T Liquid Smoke

Pour over beans in oven proof kettle and mix.
Bake at 250 F for four hours or more.

Makes 15 3/4 cup portions.
