6-8 cups clean, dry mixed greens
1 cup walnut pieces, toasted
1/3 cup Gruyere' Cheese shavings
1/2 cup Craisins
To toast the nuts, place them in a single layer in dry sauté pan. Toast over medium heat stirring continuously for roughly 5 minutes, until the nuts become very fragrant. Immediately remove the hot pan to cool.
To assemble the salad toss all the ingredients together in a salad bowl and serve with a salad dressing of your choice or my preference, a simple basic vinaigrette.
1 clove fresh garlic, minced super fine
1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
3-4 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3-1/2 cup very good Olive Oil
Combine the ingredients in a small jar with a tight fitting lid and shake well to combine. Let sit a few minutes to allow flavors to meld and then drizzle over the salad
