Rhinelander boys' basketball team gets ready for seasonSubmitted: 11/20/2014
RHINELANDER - Rhinelander boys' basketball players got used to winning last year.

The Hodags went 12-0 in the Great Northern Conference.

They lost only six games all season.

Rhinelander returned to the practice floor this week.

Coaches want to establish that winning attitude early.

"We really want to set the tone for what we expect all season long in terms of effort," says Head Coach Derek Lemmens. "Lay down the foundation of our offense and defense, and just kind of get the groundwork ready to build on as the season progresses."

The Hodags feel every game has equal importance, but they have their eyes set on games in the highly competitive GNC.

"The GNC is the biggest focus," says Lemmens. "We want to win a conference championship. That's where it starts, and then from there it's 'what can we do in the playoffs?' We want to go into every game, we feel every game we play on our schedule we can win, and we want to approach it that way, but getting those GNC wins is going to be big."

The Hodag boys' first game of the season is December 2nd in Pulaski.
