One death, four arrests in three Marathon County drug-related investigationsSubmitted: 06/27/2017
WAUSAU - Drugs led to four arrests and one death in north-central Wisconsin on Monday.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Office reports a 37-year-old Shawano man died after apparently overdosing on methamphetamine.

Witnesses say 37-year-old Lucas Groshek and his wife, Carolyn, were shaking and convulsing in a car in the eastern Marathon County town of Norrie.  Mr. Groshek died before getting to the hospital.   Mrs. Groshek, 33, is in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

Officers found a large amount of methamphetamine in the couple's car. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

Also on Monday, police arrested three people in Wausau suspected of planning to sell drugs. Officers pulled a car over north of downtown on North 6th Street, then searched a home on Townline Road about a mile from the traffic stop.

Police found meth, cocaine, marijuana, and a loaded handgun. Tou Xiong, Leng Her, and Susie Cheng all face drug-related charges in that case. They had initial appearances in Marathon County Court on Tuesday.

Police also arrested a 32-year-old man in the town of Norrie on Monday. Officers think Alan Pearcy, 32, was growing and planned to sell marijuana. Investigators found 280 grams of THC, lighting, and chemicals for growing pot. He faces a handful of drug related charges.

All three investigations will continue.
