- Members of two local churches came together this Thanksgiving to serve the community.
Grace Foursquare Church and North Country Vineyard Church in Rhinelander prepared and delivered meals to people in the area.
The churches had more than 300 requests for Thanksgiving Dinner. The meals included turkey, mashed potatoes, and pie.
The churches wanted to remind people that their community supports them.
"We're coming out to serve our community. We have so much to be thanksful for. And, this is just one of the ways that we can show God's love in a practical way to a community that we are apart of everyday," said North Country Vineyard Pastor Jodi Judes.
The churches took the opportunity to surprise a few people working on Thanksgiving.
"We go to people who are working and serving people in their community. They could be with their families and they can't. We like to go out and serve them and surprise them with a meal. And, people just love that," said Judes.
Church members made more than 400 meals.
This is the seventh year they've delivered meals to the community.
