- A Rhinelander man inappropriately touched a young girl this May.
The victim was younger than 10 years old.
Blaine Ciardo admitted his actions and apologized in Oneida County Court on Friday.
But Ciardo will spend another year in jail.
He has spent almost four months in jail so far.
On Friday, a judge sentenced him to another year.
"The defendant admitted to, in his words, playing doctor for about 30 seconds, and kissing the buttocks or lower back of the victim," Oneida County District Attorney Mike Schiek said.
"My daughter is suffering through nightmares, and she'd rather sleep in bed with me at night. She's terrified," the young victim's mother said in court.
"The conduct that gave rise to these charges was grave, repugnant, and totally unacceptable," said Judge Michael Bloom.
"I do want to apologize for what happened. It was wrong, and it was very appalling," said Ciardo.
Ciardo's jail sentence is part of five years on probation.
If he violates probation, he'll be back in court facing strong punishment.
