- Investors could try to grab lakefront property in St. Germain today.
Integrys is the parent company of Wisconsin Public Service.
The group sold its property in the auction.
"We don't need the property, there's no use for it and there's no sense in us hanging on to it. We've carved it into some very large lots and given now with this auction, people the opportunity to own a nice chunk of land on a really pristine, small lake," said Integrys Spokesperson Kerry Spees.
The land used to be a retreat for the company's executives. There were 23 pieces of land for sale.
There would have been more if not for the actions of town of St. Germain.
The town voted earlier this month to buy 230 acres of wooded property next to their already existing park.
"A week ago Friday that another 200 plus acre plot of land that was off the water, holds the walking trails and some opportunities for biking trails and those kinds of things. We've been working with the town for a long time because we wanted them to have that property if they wanted it," explained Spees.
The properties range from 1.5 acres to more than 20 acres.
The land is on Lake Content, just outside of St. Germain.
