- A teenager died in a car crash near Rhinelander late Saturday night.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says emergency responders found a 17-year-old thrown from an overturned car in the ditch near County Highway C and Tenderfoot Road in the Town of Stella.
A family member called police around 11:45 p.m. Saturday to report the 17-year-old took a drive into town and hadn't returned.
The sheriff's office investigation shows the car went into the northbound shoulder on Tenderfoot Road. The driver over-corrected, crossed the road and crashed into several trees. The car rolled and the teenager was thrown from the car.
The sheriff's office will not release the 17-year-old's name until family can be notified. The report also doesn't say if the teen was the driver or a passenger.
