- Merrill residents might have heard a lot of music in town today.
Merrill High School hosted the Merrill Marching Invitational. Three high school marching bands took over the football field at Merrill High School Sunday.
Antigo, D.C. Everest, and Merrill high schools all showcased their musical creativity.
"I really enjoy getting to see other bands shows and getting to meet other people from other bands," said Antigo High School Drum Major Anna Reineke.
While they all enjoy playing their music and performing the routines they work so hard on, it's their fellow bandmates that keep them going.
"The people that I've met in band are some of my best friends in high school and I'm sad to leave. It was bittersweet today," said D.C. Everest Drum Major Tori Lemke.
For Lemke and some of the other seniors this is their last major showcase.
Money from the invitational goes to the Merrill Band Endowment.
