- Twenty-year-old Randall Lego still wore a neck brace as he sat in an Oneida County courtroom on Monday. Police believe Lego was driving drunk over the weekend when his car crashed and killed a 23-year-old passenger.
Jacob Juedes died in the crash.
Lego hasn't been formally charged yet, but he went before a judge briefly Monday. His appearance came less than 72 hours after the crash, which happened early Saturday morning.
"They found that the passenger was deceased and the driver had some injuries," said Oneida County Sheriff's Captain Terri Hook, in an interview separate from the court proceedings. "He needed to be transported to the hospital. We believe alcohol had something to do with the accident."
Lego's truck hit a power pole near the Hodag Country Fest grounds. He had a signature bond set at $10,000 Monday in court. The sheriff's office is suggesting Operating While Intoxicated charges. Lego will return to court on December 14.
