- Brewers fans didn't see much to be happy about in the first 25 games of the seasons.
But Monday under new manager Craig Counsell, Brewers fans went to bed happy and proud.
"I told you guys earlier today I'd hope we had a story about this game someday and I think those guys wrote a pretty good story tonight," said Counsell.
The beginning of the Counsell era could be put in a storybook. The team advanced its first winning streak of the season to three in a row. They also beat one of the best team in the leagues and the best left handed pitcher in the league, Clayton Kershaw.
"It's special; it's a win," Brewers Right Fielder Ryan Braun said. "We really had to grind for too so hopefully it's the first of many many wins for 'Couns'."
The Brewers finally looked like a ball club with some fight.
"It's been a season of not a lot of fun, of adversity, of wondering what's going on," Counsell said. "I think today is hopefully a day you feel like a baseball team and pull together and figured out a way to win."
The Brewers can make it four wins in a row tonight.
