- Wisconsin defeated Nebraska 72-61 on Wednesday night in Madison.
Coach Greg Gard says opponents have seen the Badgers play well inside during the teams sixth game winning streak.
So Nebraska shuffled between man-to-man and 2-3 zone.
That didn't work out because the Badgers hit the three ball.
Gard did his scouting too.
He had seen that Nebraska double teams when they go to man-to-man defense.
"They had shown that all year," Gard said. "So they were trying to take what had been our strength away. Fortunately for our guys to be able to recognize that and be unselfish for the most part. When you shoot 11-18 that's 33 points on 18 possessions. That's really good."
A player that really stepped up tonight for the Badgers was Vitto Brown.
He came into the game scoring less than night points a game.
The team was excited to see Brown score 18 Wednesday
"You know it was about time because I was ready to rough him up, I told him to meet me outside the locker room," Badgers Nigel Hayes said jokingly. "Seriously that's what we expect. I told him at the beginning of the year that's what we expect from him. He just has to keep playing with the confidence that he has."
