THREE LAKES - Many people get their tax forms at Northwoods libraries. But they might not get everything they need to file their taxes at the library this year.
The IRS won't be able to send local libraries every free tax form and instruction booklets because of budget cuts.
At the Demmer Memorial Library in Three Lakes, the free tax forms are usually a popular service. The library's director think many people will be let down. But the library will still offer some of the tax forms people will need.
"This year we will only be receiving 10-40, 10-40A, and 10-40EZ forms," says Erica Brewster, the director of the Demmer Memorial Library. "We will not be receiving any schedules or instruction booklets."
People can print any other forms they need. They won't be able to print any of the booklets because they're too many pages. But there are other way to get the booklets.
"You can also go online to the IRS' website and download those forms or request them to be mailed to you," says Brewster.
The library hasn't gotten any of the forms yet. But the director can help people order them to be sent to their homes.
