RHINELANDER - People in the Northwoods got the chance to try a variety of beer, wine, and food on Saturday.
Hodag Hops and Vines was held in Rhinelander.
There were many different breweries from Wisconsin and the Midwest at the event.
The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce relies on volunteers to help with the event.
"We have volunteers who are able to come in if the brewery themselves aren't able to be represented, then we get volunteers from different organizations like our sponsors, or just local volunteers who like to pour the beer," says Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dana DeMet. "Our brewers provide info cards and everything that they need for them so they can be a little bit knowledgeable about the beer."
DeMet says the event grows every year.
This year about 300 people went.
The event helps local businesses.
"This is also an opportunity for some of our members to just get out, and whether they're a restaurant, whether they carry some of the product that we're featuring tonight, it's an opportunity for exposure and to have a little bit of fun with the community," DeMet says.
This is the fifth year the event has been held.
