- Some ball players hoping to make it to the bigs some day took the field at Hodag Park.
The Rhinelander traveling teams hosted the 7th annual Hodag Memorial Tournament.
Sixteen teams from the ages of 9-12 years old played this weekend.
There were several squads from the Northwoods, plus a few from the Wausau area.
Being part of a traveling team gives the kids the chance to play competitive baseball, at a young age. The Rhinelander teams have started to see success over the last few years.
At the 9 and under level, Antigo took first. For the 10 under, Rhinelander won the championship game. At the 11 under, Northwoods out of Eagle River finished first and for the 12 under, Mosinee was the champ.
