UPDATE: Investigators try to find motive for Marathon County home shooting Submitted: 05/04/2014
TOWN OF MAINE - UPDATE 1:45 P.M. 05/04/14 Investigators want to know why a man fired shots in a home in Marathon County on Saturday night.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department arrested a 21 year old man, who they believe is the shooter. The shooting happened in a home on North 44th Avenue in the Town of Maine. Marathon County Sheriff Scott Parks says the man fired approximately three .22 caliber shots at other family members in the home. The people living in the home had two friends over when the man started shooting. The three rounds struck two victims. Both victims were seriously injured. They are being treated at Aspirus Hospital. The victims names are not being released yet. Investigators are still don't know what caused the man to shoot. Charges of Attempted Homicide will be referred to the District Attorney's office. ----------------------------------------------------------- Officials will investigate a Saturday night shooting in Marathon County. Marathon County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Chad Billeb says dispacthers got a call about a shooting at N. 44th Avenue in the Town of Maine around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Billeb says two people were shot. They were taken to local hospitals. A suspect was taken into custody. Deputies from the Marathon County Sheriff's Department , Wausau Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and a member of the Everest Metro SWAT Team responded to the scene.
