- The bill to reduce the cost of oral chemotherapy drugs for cancer patients will be signed into law.
Governor Scott Walker plans a ceremony at at a Milwaukee hospital today.
The measure passed the Legislature with bipartisan support.
That's after some Republican leaders tried to keep the bill from moving forward.
Chemotherapy pills can be taken at home.
The bill Walker is signing requires insurance companies to charge the same price for chemotherapy pills as for an I-V administered in a hospital.
Supporters say the proposal will help more patients afford a more convenient form of treatment.
The new law goes into effect in January.
