- A drug arrest in Wausau led police to a pot growing operation in Athens worth astreet value near $2 million, according to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department.It all started with a local delivery company. They told police about asuspicious package.That lead to the arrest of Bryan Arnold in Wausau on February 6th.Police found nearly five pounds of marijuana at his home at 806 Steuben Street.They also found several thousand dollars in cash. According to a Marathon CountySheriff's Department press release Arnold had his initial appearance in court onFebruary 10, 2014. The investigation also lead police to a home in rural Athens.Police found 727 marijuana plants, pot growing equipment and several thousanddollars there. According to a press release, drug related charges are pending towards thepeople living in the Athens home.
