- After a fuss over what music a choir should perform, the Wausau public schools will look at a policy on religious music.
Elementary education director Nell Anderson is creating a committee to address the issue.
The school board is moving toward creating an official policy regarding performances of religious songs in schools.
The district currently relies on an administrative rule to ``seek balance, respect and sensitivity toward all cultures and beliefs.''
Anderson says that rule is vague.
Religious music became an issue after district leaders attempted to limit performances of sacred songs by the Wausau West High School Master Singers.
The choral group known for its holiday performances.
