THREE LAKES, EAGLE RIVER - In wrestling, Lakeland opened the year in Three Lakes. Three Lakes finished 5th last week at the Antigo Invite to open the year. At 120 pounds, Eric Hamilton of Three Lakes pinned Michael Holton of the T-Birds. But Lakeland would come storming back. Jake McClintock of the T-Birds gets the pin on Tripp Bonack at 132 pounds. Gives Lakeland the lead.

Then at 152 pounds, Frank Scandin earned a pinfall, which wrapped up the match for the T-Birds. Lakeland won 31-30. Meanwhile in Eagle River, Northland Pines was hosting Military Night. A salute to veterans. In the boys game, Pines faced Houghton. The Eagles fell to Houghton 55-27. In the girls game, Northland Pines remained undefeated with a 57-19 victory over Watersmeet.
