Hunting parents can certify child's first deer Submitted: 11/26/2013
ANTIGO - The nine-day deer firearms season is underway.

Thousands of hunters are hitting the Northwoods and throughout the state. Many are after a trophy buck.

Some are just trying to get their first deer.

Those who get one could have a certificate made to celebrate.

The Wisconsin DNR website allows parents to fill out a form for their child's first deer.

11-year old Teddy Zuniga-Meyer got his first deer - a doe in the Antigo area last weekend. His father Patrick thinks it's a neat idea being able to certify his son's achievement.
