Heavy traffic expected during Thanksgiving week Submitted: 11/22/2013
MADISON - Thanksgiving travelers need to plan ahead.

Heavy construction projects and heavy traffic could cause delays next week.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says most highway construction projects have ended for the year.

However, traffic volume is expected to be heavy today as hunters flock to the woods for the start of deer hunting season.

The heaviest traffic day is expected to be the Sunday after Thanksgiving as both deer hunters and travelers return home.

The most significant ongoing construction projects are on U.S. 41 and at the Leo Frigo Bridge in Green Bay and at the Zoo Interchange and the Hoan Bridge in Milwaukee.
