And two area teams earned hardware.
Boys and girls in three divisions competed at the Ridges Golf Course. They had to battle some light rain and cool conditions.
In the Boys Division One race, Stevens Point proved to be too much. The Panthers captured their 10th state title. The last one was in 2008.
But the big story, one Northwoods team made history. After finishing third last year, Chequamegon earned their first trophy in any sport.
First, Kevin Koski finished 10th for the Screaming Eagles, followed closely by his brother Jordan in 12th place and Cameron Person in 17th place.
When the points were tallied - Chequamegon just missed a state championship by 2 points. However, getting the state-runner up title is pretty amazing.
Individual honors include, in D-3 girls Natalie Miller of Three Lakes on the left and Amherst's Alissa Niggemann battled for 6th, Niggemann gets it - Miller finishes 7th.
In Division Two boys - Tomahawk's Bryon Tomek capped off his fourth trip to state with a 9th place finish. He finally gets to go on the podium.
