- Northland Pines hosted a cross country invite on Tuesday. The Tomahawk Hatchets proved to be too much for the field.In the boys race, it was a 2-person dash early. Tomahawk's Bryan Tomek and Rhinelander's Sam O'Melia were running neck and neck for most of the course. But Tomek took over in the last stretch. He won with a time of 16 minutes, 53 seconds. O'Melia took second and fellow Hodag Lou Basette finished third.In the boys team scores, Tomahawk won, Rhinelander was second and Three Lakes third.
For the girls, Natalie Miller of Three Lakes had another dominating performance. Miller finished almost one full minute ahead of the rest of the field. Rhinelander's Eva O'Melia took second and Tomahawk's Alex Zedler finished third.Tomahawk took the girls team title. Rhinelander was second, followed by Northland Pines.Tomahawk will host an invite on Saturday.
