Governor has reservations over raw milk plan Submitted: 10/03/2013
MADISON - When it comes to raw milk, Governor Scott Walker remains a little sour.

Walker spoke about his reservations yesterday during the World Dairy Expo in Madison.

A bill to legalize on-farm raw milk sales in Wisconsin has been introduced in the Legislature and has bipartisan support.

Walker says he will look at the proposal.

He wants to make certain that any bill protects Wisconsin's 2-point-6 billion dollar dairy industry.

He wants to study the impact on the farm industry, and health concerns.

Supporters of legalizing raw milk sales say it has health benefits and is safe.

Opponents say not pasteurizing milk needlessly puts people's health at risk and jeopardizes Wisconsin's dairy industry.
