Jury gets case in killing of a former Wausau area woman Submitted: 10/02/2013
MINNEAPOLIS - A jury resumes deliberations today in the murder of a former Wausau area woman in Minnesota. 39 year old Jeffery Trevino of St. Paul, Minnesota, is accused of killing his wife and dumping her body in the Mississippi River. 30-year-old Kira Steger was last seen alive on February 21st. Her body was recovered from the Mississippi River in May.

Jurors began deliberating Tuesday afternoon. Trevino is on trial on two counts of second-degree murder. Prosecutors think Trevino killed his wife in a jealous rage because she was having an affair and wanted a divorce. The defense has tried to poke holes in the forensic evidence. The jury will be sequestered during deliberations. Steger graduated from D.C. Everest in 2001. (Copyright 2013 Associated Press - All Rights Reserved)
