Wolf permits going fast in Upper Michigan Submitted: 09/30/2013
MARQUETTE - Plenty of people want a chance to hunt for wolves in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

More than 1-thousand licenses were sold over the weekend, leaving just 135 still available.

The hunt starts November 15th and runs through the end of the year.

The Michigan Natural Resources Commission is allowing 43 wolves to be killed in seven Upper Peninsula counties.

Opponents hoping to stop future hunts are gathering petition signatures for a statewide vote.

A wolf license costs 1-hundred-dollars for a Michigan resident and 5-hundred for a non-resident.
