LAC DU FLAMBEAU
- Operation Pandora made another drug bust a week ago.
The Lac du Flambeau tribal police say they arrested two men.
The police seized $7,500 worth of synthetic marijuana, 40-caliber pistol and electronics.
There were children in the home when the bust happened.
Brandon Thoms works for the Lac du Flambeau tribe. He says situations like these make it harder to keep kids safe.
"Part of the initiative is to protect our children. When we talk about instances like this, where there's illegal activities, ongoing drug use, or drug issues it really impacts our families," says Thoms.
Neither of the men are tribal members.
One man was arrested and charged at the Vilas County jail. The other man was cited and appeared before tribal court and later released.
A woman who was at the scene was not arrested but could still face charges from the District Attorney's office in Vilas County.
"I think it's important also that people realize that this is here to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our children," Thoms continues.
The tribe launched Operation Pandora in April after declaring a "State of Emergency" on the reservation.
