- Hunters who need a little help can get it.Wisconsin wildlife officials are reminding disabled hunters to find sponsors by the end of August. That's so they can participate in a special fall deer hunt.The Department of Natural Resources plans to hold its annual deer hunt for the disabled from October 5th through October 13th.website.
Hunters must sign up with a sponsor by September 1st to participate. Sponsors can be property owners willing to allow disabled hunters on their land.A sponsor can also be someone willing to get permission from a landowner to let a disabled hunter onto the property.
