Packers open training camp Submitted: 07/26/2013
GREEN BAY - Wisconsin's favorite football team started its latest chase for the Lombardi trophy today. The Green Bay Packers opened training camp at Ray Nitschke field this morning. Super bowl champions in 2011, the packers bowed out of the playoffs earlier than expected the last two years. Green Bay lost two big parts of their offense from last year, as receiver Greg Jennings signed with the Vikings and fellow wideout Donald Driver retired.

The packers picked up two players early in the NFL draft that they hope will help the offense in running backs Eddie lacy and Jonathan Franklin. Thousands of eager fans showed up to see the pack on the field for the first time today. Our crew in Green Bay includes Newswatch 12's Ben Meyer and Lyndsey Stemm. Coming up tonight on Newswatch 12, Ben will have a closer look at the coming season, while Lyndsey will bring you more on a training camp tradition that involves kids in Green Bay.
