A.J. Wege of Rhinelander bowled three qualifying rounds in Columbus, OH.
He was one of 266 men competing. Another 114 women are also taking part.
The U.S. Open is one of four majors in the sport.
A.J. rolled 24 games in three days. He averaged a 180. His highest game was a 213. Final results will not be in until later tonight, but he will not make the cut.
He won an event in Appleton to qualify for the Open back in April.
A.J. told Newswatch 12 he had a great experience. He is also grateful to his family and friends for their support.
