- Last year, the "I Buy Local" campaign encouraged people to shop and eat at Rhinelander businesses.The program's second year will go even further.Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. will help local businesses with free advertising and promotions.They'll even be visible during Packers games to draw attention.
"We're just going to do all kinds of promotional type things. Then, we're adding in the consumer factor. The consumer factor is, when you purchase an "I Buy Local" card for two dollars, you get punches for every five dollars you spend at a participating Buy Local business," says Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. Executive Director Maggie Steffen.Shoppers fill out ten punches on their card.After that, they can enter it into a drawing for prizes.Businesses can learn more at a meeting Tuesday morning at 7 in the Brown Street Mall basement.
