Northwoods residents take first step on new trail Submitted: 06/29/2013
EAGLE RIVER - A new trail could bring in new business for Eagle River. "This trail and the property that it goes through is a gift to the community of Eagle River." said Tara Lila LLC Property Manager, Mike Robillard. A gift that keeps on giving for more than 10 miles. Saturday was the grand opening for Tara Lila trails in Eagle River. This is right across the street from Dairy Queen and McDonalds.

This biking and walking trail starts off in Eagle River and ends in Three Lakes. "It gives them an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Northwoods in a family friendly way in a way that's healthy and enjoyable." Robillard said. For more than five years the 3 Eagle Trail Foundation put their hard work into making this trail accessible from the downtown streets of Eagle River. Building the trail had a couple of obstacles. One particular, the mud creek flood plain. So they built a boardwalk. "In the process of building it we were fortunate enough to get some big donations, private donations." said 3 Eagle Trail Foundation President, Tom Rulseh. The trail isn't completely done, but Rulseh wants people to take advantage of the scenic view. "We still have a gap of about a mile and half between the end of this trail and the beginning of the next one," Rulseh said. "And then we'll have a complete off-road trail between Three Lakes and Eagle River and that's what our goal is." People will be able to enjoy the Northwoods for years to come in a healthy way.
