Increased wolf hunt quotas go to Natural Resources Board Submitted: 06/14/2013
MADISON - Hunters could kill more wolves under quotas going before the state natural resources board for Wisconsin's second wolf hunt.

The board will take up the limits June 26th in Wausau.

Testimony will be taken from the public.

That's up from 201 for the first wolf season last year.

The state's Chippewa tribe elected not to use the 85 tags allotted to them, leaving non-tribal hunters and trappers with a 116-animal quota.

They killed 117 wolves in total.

The DNR estimates as many as 834 wolves roamed the state over the winter.
