LANSING, MICHIGAN - Hunters looking to bag a wolf will have their chance in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

A state board voted to allow a 6-week hunting season this year in which up to 43 wolves can be killed.

The Michigan Natural Resources commission approved the hunt yesterday.

State wildlife regulators recommended the plan.

The wolf hunting season in Upper Michigan would open November 15th and end December 31st,unless the target harvest is reached sooner.

Michigan becomes the sixth state to authorize hunting wolves.
