- Although the Hodags are not playing any softball games right now, all was not quiet on Friday.Senior pitcher Mara Meyer signed to play college softball - and she's staying in the Badger State.She signed to play D-2 Softball for Cardinal Stritch University out of Milwaukee. Their nickname is the Wolves.This afternoon Meyer signed with dad and mom watching.
Meyer led the Great Northern Conference in Strikeouts and won six games last season.Meyer is also looking into the nursing field. That's why she chose Cardinal Stritch. She joins fellow Hodag Lindsay Schilleman.Mara is happy the process is over, and she can just concentrate on softball."I chose Cardinal Stritch because they have a great nursing program," says Meyer. "They offered me a scholarship and it just seemed the right fit."
