- People driving past Rhinelander High School may be startled to see a large law enforcement presence, but don't worry, it's only a drill.
The Oneida County Sheriff's department and Rhinelander School district will be hosting the training.
Officers from a number of departments will participate, as will students from the Nicolet College Criminal justice program.
The training is to help make sure students and staff will be safe in a crisis.
Oneida County Sheriff Grady Hartman says this is one of many drills and training programs put in place to maintain a safe environment in all our schools.
The training begins today, and runs through Wednesday.
It might include some evening hours.
Rhinelander students are out of school this week for spring break.
