- As a kid you may have loved going to the library, curling up and getting lost in a good book. Today, librarians from across the state got a chance to learn about some of the best children's books from 2012. The 26th annual Children's Book fest was held at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Rhinelander.
Their goal is to look at the best books in the bunch and bring them to a library near you. Merri Lindgren from the Cooporative Children's Book center in Madison gave a presentation on the books. "I think what a lot of people don't realize is we have to make decisions about books without even being able to see them, so new books are published and often we have to be able to rely on reviews, so what other people thought about them and that is very helpful but there is nothing like having a book in your hands and being able to examine it," said Lindgren. The books were all published within the last year. They range in topic from picture books for little ones, to young adult novels.
