WAUSAU - The high school Alpine and Snowboarding state championships are this weekend.

Some area teams got in some fine tuning on Tuesday, in the last meet of the regular season. Rhinelander competed at Granite Peak in Wausau. Wausau, and D-C Everest were also there.

The Hodag girls snowboard team took 1st place. Emily Babcock finished second overall. Her sister Sarah Babcock had a strong day as well, taking third place.

Rhinelander's boys board team looked good finishing in second. Nathan Tvedten (Tweeden) led the team finishing in third place.

In boys Alpine, the Hodags ended the day in second. Their top finisher was Carter Olsen taking seventh place.

Wausau West won the girls Alpine title. D.C. Everest won the boys Snowboarding crown. Ashwabay was the boys Alpine champion.

Overall it was a great practice run before heading to La Crosse for State.
