"Science on Tap" shares knowlege and creates conversation Submitted: 02/06/2013
MINOCQUA - If you take a look outside, it's easy to notice the beauty of the Northwoods.

But you might wonder how it got to be that way and how we can protect its future?

Those were some of the questions answered tonight at "Science on Tap" in Minocqua.

The monthly series kicked off at the Minocqua Brewing Company.

The topic was environmental history of the Northwoods.

Scientists working in the area spoke and answered questions.

"I would like there to be, in the public a greater ease with science. So that we can elevate the conversation to talk about some of the issues really pressing, not only in the northwoods but nationally," said speaker Tim Kratz, Director at the Trout Lake Station.

The free event will be back March 6th.

The topic for that "Science on Tap" will be climate change.
