- A Northwoods school district could get student athletes and their parents more involved in the decision making process. Northland Pine's school board discussed an Athletic Oversight Committee last week. The idea was pitched by a parent whose son was cut from the varsity hockey team last fall.Northland Pines Athletic Director Brian Margelofsky has wanted a panel since last November. He's in favor of parents having more of a say with how the athletic program is run.
"We are a public facility. Tax payers help us function and run our facility. Their kids are going here. It might be time for them to have a voice on some of the structure, of our organizational things."The board will meet again later this month to talk about the committee more.
