- A Democratic lawmaker has postponed introducing his version of new mining regulations.
Senator Tim Cullen formed a bipartisan committee last year to study Wisconsin's mining and develop strategies to streamline regulation.
He formed the group after a Republican bill that would have overhauled the state's regulations, failed to pass the Senate by one vote in March.
Republicans put forward a bill Wednesday that's nearly identical to proposal that died.
The new bill didn't include any ideas from Cullen's committee. Cullen promised to introduce his own bill on today, but his office says that's been pushed back to Tuesday.
With the Republicans in control of both the Senate and Assembly Cullen's bill stands little chance of passing.
