Larry the Log Roller Felled by Tree Submitted: 01/04/2013
WABENO - The Wabeno community loses an icon.

For years, the fiberglass statue Larry the Log Roller has greeted visitors to the community.

Now, Larry has suffered extensive damage.

Wabeno businessman Joseph Valenti provided these pictures.

Valenti says Larry the log roller was struck by a tree yesterday around noon.

The pictures show extensive damage to the fiberglass statue.

Larry has been knocked to the ground.

Holes and cracks can be seen in the statue, and the upper portion appears to have seperated from bottom half.

At his full height, Larry is over 21 feet tall.

Larry is dressed as a lumberjack, but he holds a log-rolling pole rather than the typical ax.
